Silky tannins linger with notes of Santa Rosa plum, crème de cassis, and hazelnut. Dark fruits and incredible balance make this the perfect pairing for cherry and port-glazed pork tenderloin with oven-roasted asparagus and roasted potatoes. The grapes were hand-harvested in small lots and brought to the winery for sorting, crushing, and a cold soak in stainless steel tanks before a temperature controlled fermentation with the native yeast. The resulting wine was then aged for 18 months in Tremeaux, Quintessence, and Sarl TB French oak barrels before being bottled unfined.

The Florence vineyard is the hard work and dedication of Jack Florence and his son Jack Florence Jr., who were both instrumental in establishing the Rockpile American Viticulture Area. The clusters from this block feature tiny, intensely flavors berries that are the epitome of the Rockpile AVA, making it the perfect tribute to the hard and persistent work of Jack & Jack Jr. The AVA’s thin topspoils, thick bedrock, and scarce water make it extremely difficult for vines to establish their roots, which results in fruit with intense complexity.
