Marvelous aromas of blueberry jam, black fig, and toasted cedar transform into flavors of morello cherry, pink peppercorn, and hazelnut upon each sip. Lush tannins linger along with notes of boysenberry, black tea leaf, and cardamom. Dark fruits and the smooth finish make this the perfect pairing for Peking duck sliders with hoisin sauce, cucumber, and red onion or Italian sausage ravioli with fresh marinara and parmesan. Enjoy now or cellar through 2029 for additional development.

The grapes were hand-harvested in small lots and brought to the winery for sorting, crushing, and a cold soak in stainless-steel tanks before a temperature-controlled fermentation with the native yeast. The resulting wine was then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new, before being bottled unfined.

The Florence vineyard is the work of Jack Florence and his son Jack Florence Jr., who were instrumental in establishing the Rockpile American Viticulture Area. The rocky hillside features one to two feet of topsoil at any given location, which forces the stressed vines to dig deep into the mountainside, resulting in low yields of intense fruit. The high altitude provides for cooler daytime temperatures and slightly warmer nights. This allows for more ripening time on the vine, resulting in the intensity and complexity desired in high quality Zinfandel.
