Commanding aromas of huckleberry preserves, red currant, and rosehip lead into flavors of Royal Anne cherry, French vanilla, and toasted hazelnut. The silky tannins linger along with notes of fresh strawberry, clove, and black tea leaf. Dark fruit notes and subtle spices make this the perfect pairing for Hawaiian pulled pork sliders. Enjoy now or cellar through 2027 for additional development.

The grapes were hand-harvested in small lots and brought to the winery for sorting, crushing, and an extended cold soak in stainless-steel tanks prior to a temperature-controlled fermentation utilizing the native yeast. The resulting wine was then aged for 18 months in Allegro and Polonyi French oak barrels before being bottled unfined.

The Rockpile AVA would not be what it is today without the vision, dedication, and determination of Rod and Cathy Park. They reintroduced modern viticulture to their beautiful Rockpile Ranch in 1992. They then lobbied for Rockpile to be classified as its own American Viticultural Area (AVA), which was established on February 28, 2002. The vision Rod and Cathy Park has is shared by current owners Ken and Diane Wilson. This wine is a tribute to Rod and Cathy’s hard work that has made the Rockpile AVA what it is today.
